April 2024 saw some of the worst thunderstorms to strike Dubai, and the United Arab Emirates, in over 75 years.
Day-to-day life in the Emirates was severely disrupted. 254mm of rain fell in Al Ain alone – the equivalent of two years’ average rainfall for the Garden City.
My own locality, Liwan, similar to much of Dubai, was impacted by the incredibly heavy thunderstorms that struck the Gulf region on Tuesday the 16th of April. The next day I took a camera around my local area, got my feet, ankles, and legs wet and catalogued ‘the morning after the night before’.
