Jonathan Ebbitt was born in Swansea, South Wales in 1971. He is an experienced marketer with over 30 years of marketing and business management experience.
Jonathan was first introduced to digital photography in the late 1990s.
“I used to produce a large printed parts catalogue for the UK’s leading retailer of motorcycle parts, spares, and accessories. The printed catalogue was 544 pages, the company held over 66,000 product lines.
One year we had a drum scanning bill of £35,000 sterling (AED 161,000) which more than justified the purchase of our own Nikon full frame digital camera and the addition of our own small photographic studio to photograph products for the catalogue.
At that time, film was still dominating the market and we were using a Canon EOS to take pictures to send to be scanned. However, the ability to plug a camera into my Power Mac 8100, fire it directly from Photoshop, and see an instant result on the screen was a whole new world. After that I was hooked on digital.”
After a successful career in the automotive industry, Jonathan was able to connect his passion for photography with another of his passions, sport. Since 2019 he has been a regular feature at many of the UAE’s sporting events and was recently appointed the official photographer to the United Arab Emirates Rugby Federation.
